I get to pick up our I30ES next Tuesday (29th Sept). Yeah about time. Went to sort out the insurance and had to change insurers as Swift cover would not cover my wife for the new car even though at the moment they cover us for a 2.1 diesel, but they said its there policy not to cover her because she hasn't had a full licence for more than 2 years. What a pain in the a**  , but all sorted now and at least we are getting the car :D :D

Great news.

Hope you got a better deal at the new insurers?

But more importantly, did they offer to refund the unused cover at no "admin" cost to you!!!

I pay monthly, but they had the nerve to ask for another £73 to settle up because i was cancelling, to which i told them it was there fault and not mine because they couldn't supply the insurance that i wanted not that i just wanted to leave, but they wouldn't have it so now i will be going to head office with my complaint. The woman on the other end of the phone even had the nerve to suggest that i even left my wife off the insurance just to stay with them ( to which i just laughed down the phone and asked if she was serious). So we will just have to wait and see and yes new insurance was ok. Now you know why i said in my first post that it was a pain in the a**

Great news Bulldog, insurance co's can be like that. i was having bad experiences with one top insurance co here that i have used for years, so when renewal was due i changed company's and i'm much happier now and delt dirrect @ one of there offices and the girls there could not be nicer or more helpfull, i'm happy, so changed all my insurance over.

Interesting story.

When I change my car they only asked for a nominal increase due to the change in rating.  I was changing from an Accent 1.3 to CRDI 1.6.

I had, and still have wife and 26 yo son on the policy.
