Hello!

My partner and I both have an i30 1.6 Crdi- mine SE & his active. I've noticed if he is on the phone to me prior to entering his vehicle & then turns engine/ignition on the phone call automatically transfers to the car Bluetooth system & speakers. However, on my car the phone connects to the car Bluetooth & does not transfer the call across. Then when I press on my mobile & the audio output to switch to i30 it will not transfer & remains on phone. (We both have iPhone 6).

I wondered if any one has experienced this & knows how to get the automatic transfer onto the car?

Many thanks!

Hi Again Laura,

Remind me again where you are located? It is not on your profile and I can't check because I'm on Tapatalk. The 3 door SE is from Europe, but don't think they came as a diesel. Why I ask is because if they came from different factories they sometimes have subtle differences in features and operation.

Hi @laurajb

The only time in 2 years that I've been on a call when I get into my car, the call remained within my mobile until I started the car and the audio unit had initialised, at which point a message appeared on the screen to transfer the call to the car bluetooth and I had to accept/acknowledge the transfer.

You have to ask yourself how often the scenario you painted is likely to happen? I know both your cars should behave consistently so I understand your  query.

Presumably your audio unit starts up with your car and isn't turned off by default?

If you & other half both have iPhones (at the same Ios version?) it suggests the difference is in the headunits. You could always ask your dealer, seeing how new your cars are :)

@Dazzler hello, we're located in England, both of ours are 5 doors, his being a year older than mine hence being Active and mine SE.

@Shambles hello, yes the audio unit starts up in the car but I don't receive that option you mentioned to transfer the call to car Bluetooth on the unit - it straight away displays on the unit 'transferred to phone'. Yes same IOS versions on both phones, perhaps I need to test the situation as my phone - his car, his phone - my car to eliminate whether it is the phone or car. You'd be surprise at how often this scenario happens as I'm always in and out of the car taking many phone calls each day so is a tad annoying!
