do you know how the Auto dip rear view mirror works, it's suppose to be on my Style but the rear view mirror looks just like a regular one.
There is a sensor below the mirror, with an on/off switch and a green LED showing when it's on (it always comes on when you start the car). Bright lights from the rear will dip the mirror, allegedly.

You'd see it if it was there. You don't have auto-dimming rear view mirror I would suggest  :(

This is what the buttons look like Hemmi...

...and it works really well - it turns the other car's headlights a very nice green colour.

Incidentally, I haven't voted either - my car's specs are under my avatar.

Cheers for that. I've never seen mine activated. Then again, I haven't driven in the dark since I bought it  :?

I went the SR only coz I have always wanted the top of the range vehicle. If diesel was available would of got that but I dont mind about the petrol.

I picked sx diesel, purely becuase I wanted diesel, and I wasnt paying the extra money for fluff like steering buttons and climate control when the machanicals were the same! I also optioned the protectz pack as well, so I wasnt missing out on anything there either

I want the 1.6 CVVT Style Sport:

Mixed cloth-leather seats
Heated front seats (2 level heating)
Heated auto-folding door mirrors
Windscreen wiper electronic deicing
ESP, TCS, 6 airbags...
17" alloy wheels
TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System)
Auto-up auto-down on all windows
Reversing sensors
Leather steering wheel with audio controls
Leather gear stick
Auto climate control
Auto rain sensor (wiper control)
Auto lights-on control

The Style model in spain is exactly than Style Sport except for the 17" wheels (comes with 16" alloy)

I got the  cheapest diesel with the most safety.
SX with Protectz pack.
The dealer gave me a Hyundai ESP video - that settled it!
How much is your life worth?
In a few years cars with ESP will be easier to sell, as more people find out about it.
 :D
So I chose on safety and running costs.
The torque was a bonus!

Ordered SLX diesel auto with protectz pack for the wife. She wanted the SR but we wanted the economy and torque of the diesel. As a compromise we had the rear wing/spoiler fitted so she feels a bit sportier. Enquired about SR rims and were quoted $700 per wheel....no thanks :o

I agree safety is the word.
In UK with so many cars on the road the 2 second rules hardly exists from the car in front as someone will take your braking space or the space behind you.

In UK, ESP is standard on all i30 models so why isn't ESP standard across all models across all continents?

On the Kia Cee'd, i30 sister, ESP is only on top of the range model eg sport or optional on the mid range but not the basic. You can add as an extra for C£600 GBP

It was a toss-up between the SLX diesel and the SR. I really liked the refinement and extra bits the SR offered without having to get after market addons plus they had an SR in the showroom so I didn't have to wait a few months for my car ;)

I got the nana pack CRDi diesel, I've never had a new car before and didn't see the value in the SLX or I would've got it.

Even the UK comfort, base model, has more as standard than the Oz middle models.

You pay for it though !!!

I picked the top of the line diesel.
