Hi Guys I've searched the web to find someone who may be able to help me with my new i30. Bought Aug 09, been to first 1000kms service but still have two issues.
I've driven manuals for years so know how to hold on the clutch when pulling away uphill, my issue is the fuel supply seems to be in-consistant. It really is annoying me that it keeps stalling. Right when I think I'm OK & I start to pull away, I increase the revs & it drops off to stall. I mentioned it at the service & they basically implied (as a woman) I didn't know what I was doing. Sooo not impressed with that little piece of info

Also I've noticed other times when fuel supply seems interupted. Has anyone been crawling along in traffic, in first, trying to maintain a constant speed, when the car just up & speeds up of it's own accord? I haven't changed my footing or pressed the accelerator, then it backs off again? Like I've rev'd it...!! Well I haven't & several times it's nearly caught me out & had to brake quick to stop hitting the car in front.
Is there a thread on here somewhere to help me, is it a known fault?
Any info would be welcome thanks

Hi Insinc, welcome to the club.

What model i30 do you have?

If diesel, this thread might help.

If petrol, try this thread

welcome insinc

By advice - take it back and cause a fuss if you are not happy with your car stalling and especially after the garages (non) explanation.

Welcome and tell your dealer that you now know of lots of guys (me included) who spent the first two weeks of ownership stalling regularly :D :D :D

Welcome :D

I'm in Sydney (Parramatta area) and take my car to Lincorp at Camellia (near Rosehill Racecourse). They are really good and I'm sure if you explain your issues they'll look into it without being condescending. If you are taking it to them already then I'd be very surprised at the attitude.

I would mention the club and if you are taking it to a different dealer than before say they were recommended by a fellow member... puts them under pressure to live up to the recommendation

Otherwise if it is the same dealer again, also mention the club but say there are dozens of members watching with interest to see how well they service your issue..that should motivate them... :D

OK well had a look at the previous threads about the same issue & hate to report, the issue is getting worse not better.
If I don't rev the engine to over 2500 to pull away from 1st & increase the revs as i go, then it stalls, anything between 2000 + 2500 is dodgy but under 2000 foget it...I am not happy & will be asking Oh to take it back to the dealer next week, when he returns for R &R.
I am not going to go back to that condescending man again, can't bear him.
Would not buy another car from that dealership again.
