The 'barn-find' in fantastic condition: Rare 8,000-mile Datsun 260Z hunted down in 1995 but then left in hibernation goes up for auction

Iconic 70s 'Z cars' are highly sought after - this might be the lowest mileage example of all in the UK

Mechanically it needs some work but the interior and exterior are spotless

Vehicle sat in storage for 21 years after owner's lengthy search for the best 260Z in 1994

As a time-warp example, this car is expected to sell for £18,000 to £22,000 when it goes under the hammer at Classic Car Auctions' sale on Saturday 24th September at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.

I would like that.
Even more so if it was one of the original 240Zs.
Love the number plate too.   :)

Some of the early Japenese stuff is really going up in value.
The Japanese produced some tasty cars in the seventies.
I wonder if time will be as kind to the Koreans?   :undecided:
This car is very under-rated in my opinion and is a good thing.
I would buy one and store it.

I liked the styling of the Tiburon at the time. The photo in the test wasn't it's best angle...

I remember it being thirsty...

Always had good engines those Z models.

A bit off topic but one of my friends fitted a twin turbo V6 out of a 350Z into a Datsun 120Y, that thing could boogie :crazy2: it looked awesome the night the flywheel let go carving up the rear of the engine and shooting off into the sky through the bonnet  a good weeks work with a spectacular finish at the cost of a wrecked Nissan 350Z for $750 and a giveaway 120Y.

It wouldn't have done well as it need a locker centre just to get it down the track, 9.4 second quarter first run - second run was fireworks :D
