Way out of my league, price-wise, and far too low for me to get in and out of.

The other problem - and this is not often mentioned -  is that these all electric cars need a high amp feed to recharge the battery.

I live on a retirement estate and my garage is remote from the house and has only a lighting supply. Hence I am not able to recharge a car there. There are numerous people who would have a similar problem. The long range cars tend to require a charging current of around 30 amps, hence in the UK, a standard 13 amp power point will not do.

Nice, but I would still prefer the Tesla (and my job).  Not necessarily in that order.

Quote from Menlo Energy   "A subcompact car with a 10-gallon gas tank can store the energy equivalent of 7 Teslas, 15 Nissan Leafs or 23 Chevy Volts, according to industry sources."

This is a lovely looking car, but electric vehicles will always will be heavily subsidized toys for rich people. A battery, which is really a complex and expensive chemical factory to make electricity, will never match a simple tank of petrol.
