I nearly went for Steel Grey, but decided on Stone Black in the end. It actually looks very dark grey some times, just depends on the way the light catches it  :D

Hello PUFC Guy,

I know the feeling well.

Can I ask you how much they charged for the Leather steering wheel.

The steering wheel was around £166, however it wasn't the softish leather of the car I test drove it's somewhat harder and dimpled  Might soften up over time and i'll give it some leather nourisher.

To be honest knowing what this one feels like I'd have stuck with the original wheel, we live and learn.

How did she handle on those welsh roads in the rain?

Mine feels like it stuck to the road and runs on rails as the steering and feel is so positive

Must admit didn't push it too hard, I know the roads really well and thought the handling was excellent especially in the wet, 1.4 isn't a rocket ship but if you keep her high in the rev range she goes just fine.

Hey PUFC Guy, cracking car. The grey is v nice. We test drove a style model and loved the leather steering wheel, the car we will be buying is the comfort which comes with the basic steering wheel and we thought we would upgrade to the leather one thinking it would be the same as the style one but after reading your thoughts now having second thoughts. What version of car did you test drive? Do you still not like the steering wheel or is growing on you?

Thanks Miller

The issue comes if you test drive a car made in Korea it has softer smoother leather than one car made in Czech Republic. It will be the same for a Comfort with upgraded wheel.

The Czech leather wheel might not be as nice as the Korean one, but it is still nicer than the plain plastic one. The question is if it's worth the money over adding a 3rd party leather steering wheel cover.

As said further on, the wheel is far better than the (In my opinion) hideous basic one, to be honest even only a week later I'm beginning to think it was the right move to get it, though in the back of my mind I'll always be annoyed at not getting the softer one!
