Won't let me watch that from the UK, but found a scintillating recording of Ave Maria on YT

Agreed: what a voice

I watched the Voice when they had the blind auditions but as soon as they had the sing off etc it was obvious that certain singers were picked for their looks rather than their voice, in my opinion.

Is  that the same in Oz?

Differing opinions on that I guess.
I don't think so, to be honest.
I think the judges have their favourites, but performance-wise, we have a mix.
There is this sixteen year old girl & an eighteen year old blind girl, but then there is also a forty-somthing guy who has a great voice also and I don't think he's still there for his looks.

May be on Oz it is about "the voice" and not the looks.....

I have enjoyed some of the performances but the judges are too condescending, it grates a bit

I think that the eventual winner of ours would have been booted out of X-Factor weeks ago, based on her not being stick thin, love her singing though :goodjob:

Sorry, don't like that type if singing, yodelling notes, why can't they just sing the song properly.  :fum:

Despite agreeing to a certain extent with 84, it seems that the Americanisation of pop is the way forward, in order to win these contests you need to be able to cram every note on the planet into every song. :undecided:

I actually quite enjoyed our judges medley at the end of the series also, Tom Jones singing Black Eyed Peas anyone?

Ok, just watched them .. Great voice but that Mariah Carey style of singing gives me the Pip (Much prefer the the no nonsense Adele Style) :goodjob:

The Duet was more like it.. and the Medley by the judges was great.. Jessie J is... (has a great voice)  :goodjob: :snigger:
