Thanks for the info,
just more revenue raising by our respective governments IMHO.
Not really. Fog lights contribute to the deterioration of the night vision of oncoming drivers which means they have a much less clear view of the roadsides and any hazards there.
I find I get blinded more by lights that are out of alignment, or something that is arse down head up carrying a load, or the dumbie on highbeam and who has no idea of it .
Must say the GD is the first car to have them.
I'm not disagreeing with any of that Mick.
But the predominance of new cars these days with them means they are a much more common problem. Even more so on 4WDs which, because of their overall height, have their fog lights even higher.
There are a couple of major issues.
Firstly, a significant number of drivers not only don't know the purpose of fog lights but are often unaware they are on or even how to turn them off.
Secondly, asGonz alluded to, there is a small but ignorant number of drivers who think it looks "cool" to have them on and some of those on social media brag about how good they look and "no copper is gonna tell ME to turn them off!"
They make absolutely no difference to the driver's view of the road except in fog (well, Duh!) or in heavy rain when they help illuminate the road close to your car for puddles and potholes.
