Thanks for that, beerman :goodjob:

As above, not much to laud in the review.

My top end Special Edition Premium doesn't have paddles :(

Still not got around to it (and still only washed her once since last Nov).

Far too busy at home & work to get something down in writing.

Or were you referring to someone else? :snigger:

I am going to replace Mrs Beer's car when my lease expires in 2020. This is on the list.

Would love a full eletric car as she dosen't go that far from home the Ioniq Plug in Hybrid or the Kona electric would be ace, hopefully they will fall in price over the next couple of years.

If the government would get off their arse and allow access to night rate eletricity (the same one that powers hot water heaters) so one can recharge on low rate night eletricity that would be ace too. With the quoted 470k range on the Kona, the wife wouldn't need to do much recharging, the 280k Ioniq would need a bit more, but still has enough range for a trip to the Gold Coast and back.

Again my problem with these vehicles is that they are offered with 'bells and whistles' in much the same way you struggle to get a 'pov pack' diesel in a SUV pushing the price up to 'sub 50k'.  I suspect at least in the eletric vehicles this is due to the lack of capacity to build enough vehicles to service a 30-40k market $29990 drive away anyone?  I am hopeful that a couple of years will allow more capacity, more production, lower cost of technology, competition and Government incentives to push the price lower, and allow a push into the lower end of the market.

I will most likely upgrade our solar setup at the end of the year when our F.I.T. drops. An upgraded solar setup would make a plug in hybrid more appealing if I could take advantage of the excess power generated in the afternoon to top it up...

i think my FIT expires in 2028.

Once the cheques stop arriving, I'll probably be looking for something off grid. Hopefully by then electric car batteries will become part of the system, so in the worst case where your house batteries need help, you can draw off the car battery, then fill the car at a charging station somewhere.
