John Cadogan AKA Auto Expert has just made a 3 part video series about DCT Transmission using an i30 DCT SR as his vehicle of choice. He is quite a fan of the SR and the DCT in most situations. Here are links to all three videos.

 He makes a couple of one liners, but not over the top like he can be. He must have lent his glass dildo to a friend!  :spitty:

I have been watching Mr Cadogen Auto Expert channel for quite a while now..
He did have some very good points on the DCT.
When I brought mine I knew that I wanted a manual.  So I didn't even drive the DCT
And it's not because I do a lot of start-stop driving or anything else that might distract from the DCT.
I just prefer to drive with a manual.   Though I wouldn't mind a go in a DCT, just to see a difference

I'm in the reverse situation. My first 28 cars out of 32 were manual and I do like driving manual cars a lot. My wife's cars have always without exception been manuals. However, I was seduced by the benefits of a Hybrid in 2010 (Camry) and had no choice but to go CVT. Then a 2012 Hybrid (also CVT). Then a 2014 Holden Calais V (Auto). I was then diagnosed with a chronic disease which affects my movement making Auto or DCT the better choice in the long term.

I may have been still able to live with a manual (at a pinch) but the fact that the Manual SR isn't available with the Autonomous Cruise (which is just brilliant) and a couple of other safety features forced my hand... BUT I'd love to try a Manual SR just to see the difference!  :crazy1: :D
