Update: nrma had to bypass the starter to get the car running. Drove straight to Hyundai to have them check it out. Got out of car at the dealer, turned it off and back on. Started first go... Very strange. Still at the dealer while they read the error codes.
Maybe bypassed solenoid etc , ? you know how it was done in the old days,

Update:Hey guys!!Sorry for the late reply, but I thought better late then never So in the end Hyundai couldn't find anything wrong with the car, saying no error codes were showing up. The problem has come up again a few times after this post but after some playing around I think I've identified part of the problem. I found that when the car decides to play up with this issue, I can get around it by starting the car in neutral! (I'm in an automatic). This makes me believe it may be a faulty brake switch?Anywhoo, I'll mention my findings at my next service and go from there.
They said the issue has been noted in my service history so even if they can't fix it within the warranty period, it will be dealt as a warranty issue.
