Th ex got an i30 a few months ago, a 1.4 Comfort, and she swears that the boot light used to work, but now doesn't.
Before I change bulbs, is there a switch she might have bumped?

The light housing simply prises out. Probably simpler to just check the bulb by doing that...?

I don't think I know where the switch is. Too dark for me to go out and have a look. Oh, hang on, I've got a boot light (sorry mate)

Welcome munroman.. without looking don't think there is a switch (if there was it would be adjacent to the light cover I reckon...)

It wont be the fuse as it shares one of the main body control fuses (top one out of the ones in the easy-out holder IIRC).

Bulb will be the culprit I'm sure. IIRC it's a 31mm Festoon C5W. LED array replacement is possible too (see upgrades forum).

In case the bulb is o.k. but the boot-light is still off:
 
open the the hatch door and check the corresponding indicator on the dashboard. It should indicates that it's open. If it doesn't (so the boot-light is off too), adjust the bump-stops of the hatch.

Switch for the boot light is in with the lock.

Check that that is seated properly.

I would guess at a blown bulb or even no bulb!
