I have just changed my HU to a standard HU with Bluetooth. As my car trim level didn't come with Bluetooth and is EU model it doesn't have a microphone above the driver side. Does anyone know if the wiring for the micro is in my car or can one be wired in to the back of the HU. Also does anyone have pin out/ wiring diagram for the loom into HU. I'm hoping I might be able to wire a microphone in if needed.

Seems to be pins B10 and B22! Check if those 2 slots have wires connected on them.

You have to buy some pins from ebay or something and they just plug in easily!

They are called crimp pins and you will need the female ones. Before buying them, check if your car has the wires already in place. If it has them, you won't need to buy the pins.

I think the wires at 10 and 22 on the connector block b 10 are there. The wire joins a loom and goes behind the glove box and up a pillar trim so I think the mic wire is there I need to take trim off to hav a proper look which I will do at the weekend. I've had a look at an i30 that came with a microphone fitted and it is directly above the drivers head so hopefully the wire is there just with no microphone fitted. Fingers crossed has anyone else attempted what I'm about to do?

If you take off the pillar there is a connector behind it so, be sure to check that the mic wires go up on the other side of that connector as well!
If they are in place, you will be able to connect any microphone you like. (You will have to splice into those wires though).

Yes that’s true most wiring looms are the same, so technically it will be possible and you may just need to make an hole or acquire a mic

Update

Well I pulled my car about on Saturday. I was able to trace the wire up to head lining but as the wire was with a load of others making up one of the cars looms so I was unable to find it so I went with plan B.

My idea was was to connect a spare parrot kit mic into the back of the iso connector. So using the wiring diagram kindly provided by aanastasiou4. I located wires connected in to pin 10 and 22 and soldered the two legs of the parrots mic wires.

As I'm a complete novice I was amazed it worked and the sound quality is crystal clear happy days.
