Hello everyone,

I've had my silver SLX i30 for exactly 48 hours and so far I've driven it about 5km's (I'm taking it slow to begin, the tinting is still curing  and the fabric protection is still very strong smelling) but I have to say, I'm really enamoured with the car. What a beauty.

Interesting thing I found, they told me at the dealership that the ipod cable was compatible with iPhone for music but that it would *not* charge the iPhone. I have found that to be false and I'm happy about it  :D

Strange that your dealership told you one thing, but you found out differently... that's never happened before

This is a nice area in general, but there are some loony drivers about the place. Not me mind you, I am a model of moderate measured driving. :)

So you're one of the 80% of drivers who, when surveyed, rate themselves an "above average" driver?

Well, that all depends on what the average is. According to my odometer, I think I might be above average  8)

But, I do think of myself as a considerate and good driver in general. I'm the kind of driver who lets people in front of me when they are entering from sidestreets and no one else in my traffic line will let them in. Hopefully that'll get me some positive karma at some point.  :)

Hi Silverman.
Im on the sunny coast just up the highway from you. Welcome to the club.Unfortunately I put up with bad driving arounds these parts on a daily basis.
When I stop using indicators and start driving as if its my road only, I should then blend in with the locals

Tell me about it. No-one signals their intention at roundabouts, they potter along at 30kph in the 60 zones, lane change unannounced, straddle the lane markers etc etc etc. And did I mention nearly half of all drivers with fog lights drive around all night with them on.
Getting out of my suburb (Pelican Waters) with all the roundabouts is a life threatening experience.

I never fail to be amazed at how many people just don't get roundabouts! It's not exactly rocket science!

They seem to work fairly well in the small city of Devonport where I live (under 30,000 population) which is just as well because we have about 100 of them  i'm guessing...

Although.. it only takes one bad driver to stuff it up.. like the "loser" who nearly collected me when he came around a roundabout the other day without indicating...

Yes the i30 is a bit different to my Rodeo petrol space cab that I have had for 20 years The biggest difference is the saving on fuel, I don't mind going to the fuel stops so much
