Hi all,

I have an i30 2009 SX Manual. I have an auto electrical issue with it whereby the back passenger side window switch does not work. I can open and close it via the driver controls OK.

Also, via the driver controls i'm not able to put the front passenger window up and down, but if the front passenger uses their control it works fine.

Any idea how to fix this / how much it would cost to fix?

Thanks.

That is sort of good news. The up and down mechanism are obviously working ok (the expensive bits) It just sounds like the back passenger side window switch (itself) is faulty and the same with the switch on your door for the other  passenger side window.

It may be a wiring (loose connection) issue or even dirty contact point under the switches too I guess.

I would see what Hyundai charges for a couple of new switches and if you think the price is unrealistic see if you can source some from a wrecking yard. You may even find some other Hyundai models use exactly the same switches (Elantra etc..) which would increase you chances of availability at a wreckers.

Thanks I’m going to attempt to do it myself. Cheers.

Would you have any instructions to do this?

Should be pretty easy. Just search You tube for how to videos. Be the same on most cars I imagine. Without searching my best guess is remove door card... ( few screws and clips - again, plenty of how to's on YT) then just carefully pull switches out of their positions from underneath and disconnect the "adapter" for want of a better word from the back of the switch. reverse the procedure. But, don't forget to check that the new switch works before reassembling the door. If you get 2nd hand switches and they are cheap enough I get a couple extra just in case.
