Even FB is quiet.. is everyone making bables or what?  :crazy1:

I went for a walk around the Devonport CBD at 4.30 pm today and absolutely deserted. Out of several hundred shops only about half a dozen cafe's or restaurants were open for takeaways (so maybe a 3rd or a quarter of total.) Nobody in any of them.

With even tighter restrictions on the North West Coast, minimal other shops open.. only saw a handful of cars and people. I kept my distance and touched nothing.

I just needed some exercise and visual/mental stimulation.

My routine hasn't changed very much at all, a mix of good fortune and bad luck, I guess.
Having a secure job is a blessing but having to man the keyboard to see some classified matters through to the keeper has meant that while I've been assigning home duties to my people, I'm at work more often than not. :Pout:

The social isolation? I'm in constant contact with 3D Print, Linux and i30 communities, so nothing has changed.

Been up to my elbows getting bike going.
Amazing the number of people that we've never seen before,  walking the streets around us.

I wish I had a 99Bikes franchise.
The number of people, generally families, of all ages passing our house or anywhere on our walks on bicycles is amazing.  Most are too clean and shiny to be anything but new.
Be some good cheap second hand pushies around in a few months,
A lot of women (of more mature age.  :whistler:), on trikes.

My son in Brisbane is an electrical engineer working with renewable energy projects which I thought might slow down given difficulty in getting to remote proposed sites to enable tendering. He's working from home and is putting in 12 hour days. Thanks to a recently completed Executive MBA, his company is drawing on his finance experience more and more.

And they reckon they're more productive now with the whole team at home than ever. Questioning the future of their involvement in extensive and expensive offices in South Brisbane.

His wife works in the same industry but for a different company.  She was FIFO to sites in remote areas of WA, SA and NSW but last year was promoted into a managerial role. She's working from home most days.

Daughter is with the health department of a near Brisbane council.  A lot of her work involves developing action plans so she's working from home on alternate weeks.

I reckon plenty of companies will find the working from home option a lot more viable in years to come. It'll mean a few lifestyle changes but seems inevitable.

. I kept my distance and touched nothing.
After that, the Devonport folk breathed a sigh of relief and came out of hiding.

My personal trainer keeps me quite active.

He's thinking footy, for 2 hours!

Im thinking pain-killers, all night!
