My diesel, manual 2011 5 door hatch has a problem with the rear right hand power window (its non functional when using the actual switch and the drivers master switch). I have replaced the switches (master driver and actual window switch) and bought a new motor (prematurely) but that did not help. I have since removed the original motor and verified it is functional by attaching it to the left hand rear window cables (it works). I have also attached the cables on the problem window to a volt meter and confirmed that the correct voltage is being delivered to the motor when the switch is operated (one wire at a time gets over 12v when the switch is operated up/down). I have also removed the motor from the door and tried to run it (just in case the window assembly was jammed and preventing the motor from running) - I am confident this is not an issue with the window assembly as I can push the window up and down manually with the motor removed.
Any ideas as to what could be going on? If the switch is delivering the correct voltage to the motor and the motor is otherwise functional, why does it not run? Could there possibly be insufficient current being delivered to start the motor i.e. voltage drop when it tries to run due to some short somewhere?
