Even though I don't have a genuine cable (see my previous post), yesterday just the slightest movement dislodged the cable from the base on my iPhone.  Doesn't seem that the little "teeth" are hooking themselves into the base of the phone.  Also this cable I have is rather hard and hard to position.  Is the genuine cable more flexible?

  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
Vanessa, you would be far better buying the genuine Hyundai cable. The link below is to an Australian ebay seller of genuine Hyundai parts.

You want to hear rip off?  I called Werribee Hyundai and asked how much they had the cable for...$100.  Geelong Hyundai were selling for $130

Ended up getting it off eBay for $76.  Hope it arrives before I leave for the road trip after Boxing Day.

Good luck with the genuine cable.  I've had my genuine since I bought the car, never had a problem with it.  You will find it is very flexible and allows you to keep your ipod either in the centre console, or in the cup holder (routing the cable through the slot in the centre console).

Just received the cable that I purchased from eBay (see link above) and still seems to fall out from the phone too easily, like the little teeth aren't gripping.

Not having much luck with these damn cables.

I'll have a proper test in the car later.

P.S.  I would use a USB key for my music, but I stream the internet radio from my phone (from Slovenia) and play music from my iPod (battery lasts longer).

Starting to sound like the connection on your Ipod is a bit dicey . Probably should test both cables with someone elses Ipod to see if that is the case

iPod is fine for some reason, it's the iPhone that's causing me grief LOL
