Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some real-world advice on tuning my i30 1.6 CRDi. I'm based in Portugal and considering a Stage 1 remap, possibly looking into EGR blanking or DPF delete down the line.
Before pulling the trigger, I want to know the safe limits of the stock hardware. I'm not looking to blow up my turbo; I just want a bit more pull without sacrificing daily reliability.

A few questions for those who have remapped this engine:

What are the safe torque figures before the stock clutch starts slipping?

Have you had any DPF clogging issues after the remap due to running richer?

Any weak points I should check before mapping it (e.g., injector seals, turbo health)?

What supporting mods do you consider essential for longevity and reliability on a tuned 1.6 CRDi?

My car is a i30 2007 with 390000 km, Manual gearbox. The clutch and flywheel are new with like 5000km.

Any dyno graphs or long-term experiences would be massively appreciated. Cheers!
