My poor i30 had its 7500km service done on Tuesday 22 Feb, while I waited they did the service, so far so good, then the tint man came and fixed the incorrectly applied tint. I though we where all good. Driving my car the next day I notice my Stereo Panel now has two brand new scratches across the screen :(

I though I'd not bother about it, I knew they wouldn't admit to doing it. Driving home on the Friday I get a call from Hubbie, and when I go to hit the accept call button on the Parrot, it falls off!

By the time I get home the dealer is shut, the after care lady is away, so I await her call back, Nothing, I call again on Tuesday Left two messages for her, Wednesday I call again and finally get to talk to her. Tells me to bring my car in so she can see.

I get there, she takes a look takes some photo's and says she'll take it up with the service dept this morning.

I call Mid-morning, get fobbed off told they'd talk to the manager and the Tech and call me back... 4:30 I call them, they say the Tech swears he didn't put anything on the dash, (same guy who didn't take my car to buy lunch and spill gravy in it last service). They say you'll have to bring it back and show us, but it'll have to be before 4 on a week day.

I work in Canning Vale a 45 Minute drive from Rockingham, and I don't finish work until 430, I've already had to take time off to get the service done and the tint fixed, I can't take any more.

What are my options here? I don't think I'm going to get anywhere with the Service Dept, and the Dealer Principal didn't care about my issues last time, I can't see it being any different this time.

I have NO intention of ever getting them to service my car again, I waited a long time to finally get a "New" car and the dealer has done more damage to it then I have.

Might be worth taking it up with Hyundai themselves.....
They probably won't do anything either but if enough people complain they just might give the dealer a foot up the clacker..... :-\

Gee I'm sorry to hear of your troubles Bel  they sound like a bunch of cowboys.

Give WA's Hyundai state manager a ring they are in Bassendean Ph 9377 8400 ... I have no respect for the AHG group which own Rockingham Hyundai ... They only care about sales figures and profit margin's ... customer service is an unknown item.

Let us all know how you get on ..... all the best  :o

Thanks for the suggestion Oz, I'll give them a call on Monday.

Hubbie says he'll pay for the Blue-tooth to get fixed for me, and to send the dealer an email advising we won't be going anywhere near their dealership again, even when I upgrade in 4 year..

Anyone know how to get scratches out of the plastic on the stereo?

Don't forget to send the Parrot repair bill to them (!) I know it's paid but you never know.  In the UK my dealership will collect the car from you if you scream loud enough or cite it it as undriveable.

Scratches from plastic - I had some luck a few years ago with tootpaste as a very mild grinding agent.  But I'd be tempted to leave it alone.  Of course there is always the option of fitting a new stereo and sending them that bill too.   :D

There's been some discussion on here about the softness of the screens on the i30.
Yes toothpaste works on something hard, like perspex which I've used it on but I'd be very careful on the dash screen.
Sorry to here of your problems. Certainly take it up with Hyundai and let them know we're following the saga on here.

I am sorry about your bad dealership  :blubber:

I realize this topic is months old now, but i wanted to mention that I too have noticed how incredibly soft the plastic is on the i30(cw) stereo. Just from wiping away dust I have some small scratching. Anyway, what I did was purchase a screen protector for mobile phone, the kind you use soap solution and rubber card to apply. You just cut it to size and squeegee out the water bubbles. No more scratching  :happydance:
