I agree Alan, Hyundai has very high priced service parts. it's a bad combination, as you buy Hyundai thinking it's a budget buy. but you get service parts priced up there with the best of them. but the good thing is Hyundai seem very reliable & only need service parts not warranty work all the time. i would never own another Ford from GB! i once owned an Escort that was enough.

So, does this mean that you moving over to a Ford.  Maybe it's a case of, you gets what you pay for.  I am hoping that by the time my i30 needs any substantial work done I will do what I did with me Yaris, get rid.   My Yaris was getting to that age when ya just know that thing are wearing out, I could hear the CV joint on the nearside doing it's ominous click click in tight turns, I guessed that the clutch wouldn't have a great deal more life in it and a few other things as well, I estimated it would cost me, I dunno so I'll make it up, about a thousand or so within the next twelve to eighteen months, ergo, time to move on.  New i30.  I am very happy.

I am in fact contemplating the ix35, but common sense is prevailing at the moment   :) :) :) :)

The guys at the store where I'm working ATM were telling me yesterday they had a woman come in with a new Hyundai steel wheel to replace one she'd damaged - normal 15".
The invoice was somewhere between $250 and $350.

Bit worrying.

For just a bit more than $350 could get 4 x nice 15" alloys from Bob Janes

Edit: Frustrating really because there would be an awful lot of sets sitting in garages around the country of people who have upgraded.. These are worth next to nothing!!!

Hey Alan, I think you forgot to post a link to the "evidence" ;)

Sorry about that - I originally inserted the jpg the file and it appeared OK. Only to vanish later.

Trying to attach it again resulted in a message telling me it was bigger than 50Kb - so I have linked the file from Photobucket.

Why it worked at first and then failed later is a mystery to me.
