CAR Insurance quotes could become fairer and more competitive as firms are to be stopped from sharing data on individual customers.
...........................and no longer share detailed individual pricing information.

I reckon they won't be too competetive over here next time I renew .. after all these Hail Storms and now the huge floods in Queensland they will be going up significantly I would suspect.. :'(

You are right Dazzler,  If  insurance companies have to pay out a lot because of the floods
premiums will go up, the motorists will have to pay,   they cant loose.
That's if they dont wriggle out of paying,  calling it   "an act of god"

Apparently Suncorp in Queensland were quite competetive on flood insurance so a lot have gone with them (They will take a huge hit).

When I sold insurance (as a banker) quite a few years ago a lot of companies didn't insure for floods resulting from a river bursting its banks...Only for flooding caused by storm damage, leaking pipes and hot water cylinders etc...

I would hazard a guess quite a few of those insured wont be insured for this... :'(

      Caloundra, Queensland.
APIA and Suncorp up here have been running ads reminding their policy holders they are AUTOMATICALLY covered for flood and water damage.
Seems to be a trend these days to offer "bonus" coverage.
When we were with AAMI they covered your house to the full replacement value regardless of the amount it was covered for.
