The reason I called it that name is because you need to give it a Proper Gander (particularly at the end  :D)

I wanted to use "Perfect Love" by Marc Cohen but when I uploaded it the first time they muted it (said I couldn't use it) so this is my second choice of music...

I will upload some pictures of Cradle Mountain, Wineglass Bay and Port Arthur in a few minutes...(haven't done any of those areas myself lately but ALL the photos in the slideshow are ours.. )  Enjoy  :winker:

Port Arthur is an amazing Penal Colony site about an hour south of Hobart (it is also the site of one of the worst Massacres unfortunately (37 people gunned down by a madman)

Wineglass Bay is stunning (and a superb beach)

The whole Cradle Mountain Region is pristine (fantastic walking tracks and scenery)

Shaz now thinks most of those pics are of the area around your land. Mostly because I told her they were

Yeah, they are not something you would take home to meet your Mother!  I doubt they would even taste that good.. (not that I will ever find out they are a protected and endangered species)

Another great submission, Dazz.

I was looking at all the photos remembering the times that we went to those places (most we have been to, haven't been to Stanley though).

(Tassie Devils are a bit tough to eat, not as tough as Platypus though!!  Nor as tender as Koala!!)

Thanks again,

FatBoy

Tassie Devils are also found at Cradle Mountain, the Great lakes and deep in bush areas, I have seen them in the wild.
but this is not common.

Great sceneries!
Propaganda is fair also
The variety of places that a visitor can meet along his journey is astonishing :goodjob:

Very strange specie, this "Thylacinus cynocephalus" of Tassie, is (it's like the back half comes from another animal).
I copy from wikipedia:
"The male thylacine had a pouch that acted as a protective sheath, covering the male's external reproductive organs while he ran through thick brush"
A dog with drawers :-\

P.S.: You should have been awarded by your tourism minister (he is Greek i think :p )

I'm sure I used to see them dead on the side of the road (or smeared into the road) years ago before this nasty disease got to them....or was that something else?

Because we have lots of wildlife and comparatively limited traffic there is a lot of roadkill down here at times but I think they are mainly possums and wallabies..  :disapp:

Think I might have mentioned this before on the site but I had an American workmate at one stage whose American wife said in a southern drawl " your Possums are so soft" I said "you should be careful they can scratch you badly" and she said...."It's ok, it was dead on the side of the road"  :scared:

StarSeeker.. Glad you liked the Pix (Yes Tassie is a lot nicer than most people who haven't been here realise) Quite a few OZ celebraties have bought land down her and moved down or spend time in Tasmania... :goodjob:

Where did you scrape that up from

What do you do for a living? Oh, I administer the Roadkilltas.com website  :faint:

Anyway looks like I was right about where all the blood and guts on the road comes from (surprised at how many devils get run over every year though...)

It's amazing what you can find.... :whistler:

The main road that I recall seeing what I thought was Devil roadkill was the Gordon River Road, which is the road to Strathgordon and the Strathgordon Dam....One of my favourite places in Tasmania.
