Gday all I just got my wife the I30 sx crdi auto. But she refuses to drive it  :rolleyes:,  so it looks like it's mine now  :goodjob:

Anyway after a short search I found this site and I have to say it looks like a friendly place  so I might be around a bit for some tips and advice

No problem here with insurance just the amount of road noise drives her mad (Like she needs another trigger ;) ) plus she really wanted a toyota

I did offer to buy her some ear plugs but that did not go down to well  :twisted:

Sorry to hear that your wife doesn't like the I30, I have the petrol cw and love it, Daz use to have the diesel I don't remember that having a lot of road noise, a bit but not to bad.

yeah, new tires will help, the softer the better for noise control.

Hi Diesellover...and welcome (my wife is TrishCW .. she appreciates a good car when she gets one  :mrgreen:)

We have had quite a few members complain about the standard kumho/Hankooks being a bit noisy but the i30 is about middle of the class for interior noise .. take her for a run in a Lancer (particularly the VRX)  :rolleyes:

Toyotas are a bit boring compared to the i30 (I drive a Camry Hybrid after trading my i30 CRDi Manual :lol: )
  • 2021 MG PHEV ( had 4 x i30 plus a Getz an Elantra and a Tucson)
