For the last couple of days, with basically no cause I can see :P, my ESP has started turning off by itself. I'm driving normally, and the ESP OFF dashboard light just turns on, and the button that normally turns it off has no effect in turning it on again. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in Advance ^^

if you have a wheel alighnment or steering work done you have to have your dealer reset the computer to compensate for the adjustment.

I've had 3 wheel alignments in just over 2 years and I've not had my ecu reset by the dealer after each one.  not once have i had the esp off light stay on. the day before i had my new tyres fitted i picked up a nail in one of my old tyres,i drove on the half flat tyre to the tyre fitters [about an 8km trip] and the esp off light didn't come on.  :p

Just check when you first turn on the ignition all working warning lights should show up  :whistler:

I keep reading this!

I reckon that if the system is so sensitive to tyre pressure then it's way out of adjustment. What are we "measuring" here; effective tyre circumference; slip angle increases from "flat" tyres or something else?

Whatever, a marginally flat tyre should not trigger an ESP off (i.e., disable) event but more likely an ESP on (i.e., enable) from an "out-of-control" (steering angle greater than slip angle) trigger.

If anything, it should disable the car itself, not a safety feature intended to prevent accidents!!

Illogic: "A tyre is flat so we should disable a feature that just might save a skid because of it"...

Really? If I were a programmer... it's not what I'd do...  :-\

So if adjusting tyre pressure "fixes" an ESP off intermittant I'd look further.

I really would. :-\ :scared:
