I have tried using my floor jack on my i30 ,but with very limited success. there seems to be very few jacking points under the car , with the available chassis rail very flimsy.
I have seen these adapters online, http://www.purems.com/products/product.php/II=833
but they are only available US, and the freight ( if they would send it ) would be horrendous. I suppose I could use an Ice Hockey puck but it would take a bit of fettling , even if i knew where to get one.
Anyway what do people use here to jack up their cars, Not the supplied widow maker I hope, and where do they put their jack stands.
I want to swap around my wheels, and clean the alloys properly once or twice a year. i have a Floor jack already as well as axle stands and would hate to waste them
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I've jacked my cars up before by using the tow hook under the front on the main cross member and the center of the rear cross member to jack the rear up.  :goodjob:

I've used the jack provided and located in the jacking point on the sill.

I'm not overly impressed with it but for an emergency wheel change it does the job.

Floor jack = trolly jack?

If so I'd be using this as it will be more stable
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

Must be different states  :whistler:
Anyway used the OEM jack, as I was impatient, seemed OK , but it is really made to a price. Then again only anal retentive guys like me want to clean the back of their alloys.
Had a bit of an accident and one wheel fell over onto a brick and put a few gouges in it. Boy this stuff is soft. tried to rub it out with some 2000 grit and discovered the wheels are painted. I think it is the same shade that BMW uses. Oh well , Hyundai gives us a full size spare, so after a quick swap no one ( but me) will be the wiser.
Thanks for all the replies.
Have measured up the OEM jack head, and will get a mate to fabricate a bit to fit in my Floor/garage/trolley    jack to use the original pinch point.

i had always assumed the i30's with alloys only had a steel spare wheel.  :goodjob: so an alloy spare it is.
