There is a video link at the top right of the screen which shows the unveiling of the car and has commentary from Tony Whitehorn and various motoring journalists :goodjob: :goodjob:

Hyundai are the new Toyota.  I remember the buzz around the Toyota Corolla circa 197? (memory lapse) my adoptive parents bought one and I was the main driver, it was a proper eye catcher.

Well, Hy have seized that spot now, me thinks....

Rather than start another thread I thought I would use this one....

i40 is now available in Australia as 2.0i GDI (Petrol) and 1.7 CRDi (Diesel) Only base model comes as a manual .. even that works out pretty expensive as a Diesel (extra $2000 for the diesel motor) Very nice but reckon pricing will scare some off...

Great Video advert here too.. (Don't think it has been posted before?

I agree totally and have said this before in another thread at some point back in the dream time.
I remember when Toyota were conquering the UK in the mid sixties with the shovel-nose Corona and how they went from strength to strength as the years & decades passed.
Then in the mid eighties Hyundai set about conquering the Australian market and have gone from strength to strength.
And now we have the Chinese who are at that first step on the ladder. It will be interesting to see where they are in twenty years' time.
