Surely you can come up with a dazzling new virus detection system based on heuristics across our increasingly connected cloud. Suggest that AV on individual devices is old hat and the 'net needs bots'n'agents roaming cyberspace like an organic immune system attacking free radicals.

That should be enough to get them talking and put you in the front row. You're welcome. :hatoff:
Free (Avast) radicals roaming cyberspace, that's actually a good suggestion :goodjob: could be possible if laws permitted, the crooks can do it but the good guys aren't allowed :disapp:

The implications of a false positive could be detrimental and very costly

+ Got an all expenses paid trip to Prague offered to me courtesy of Avast for 4 days in January

- Wont be going because of a few roundtable discussions that require participation and I'd feel rather out of place ( bored shitless :whistler: )  amongst all them analysts and coders :Pout:

+ Got Japan trip coming up in March to look forward to instead :)

Now you're being Praguematic.

+ First i30 spotted, a white FD hatch parked outside the Montjuic Olympic stadium. This car is the most beaten up car I've seen on these roads so far. Does that say good things about its longevity and value?

- Last night in Barcelona for the next week, calling out to all Barcelona members for a coffee meeting

+ In Cordoba for the next week, calling out ... you get my drift

Yes, but I suspect the city has been standing a few centhries longer than the car

The Toledo, Leon and Ibiza are all SEATs named after cities as well. :goodjob:

It's December, and time to open the first door of this chocolate advent calendar I got from the Auto 2016 exhibition.  They gave this little gift to everyone who test drove the Ioniq Hybrid.

The hybrid drive in Ioniq worked quite nicely, no jerkiness when the petrol engine woke up during driving, but then it was like driving a normal car with DCT. Personally I liked more the Toyota Prius's CVT which goes smoothly from low to high ratios without any "gears" in traditional sense.

Driving a Lexus IS300h was quite the same as Prius except having more power, however no sound of V6 like before. Nowadays even luxury cars are dropping out V6 and V8 engines in favor of boring inline-4. :Pout:

I also drove a Kia Cee'd CRDi with 7-speed DCT. It worked smoothly, almost like a conventional automatic, but I didn't like how low revs it wanted to keep. At the city it hardly ever rose over 1500 rpm, and the Sport mode of course kept revs too high. There should be several intermediate modes between Eco and Sport, so everyone could find the best setting for their needs. I'm considering whether I would get DCT next time, but I'm still not sure at all about it.

Interesting. I was also considering a DCT next time, mostly because missus can't drive manual... Yet. But I'm afraid the hills will kill any fuel economy with an automatic.

Yesterday was my I30 one year day with me, and apart from the tire noise I have at the moment I'm happy with it. And I can't really blame Hyundai for the poor quality of Kumhos winter tires, that were probably stored wrong/parked long periods by the previous owner who under two years only managed to take the car out driving for 4600km.

I'll post some statistics after new year, when I have a good calendar year of data, I'm undershooting my estimated mileage by a bit, but then I was on parental leave for 3 months and had no commute to speak of that time. :)
