Now there's an idea, get one of those cheap single chip sound effects doorbells and select the V8 Rev or 357 Magum. :happydance:

I have found an auto electrician via my dealership who is booked to do the work on 17th July after we get back from holiday. He has already done four i30's and two i40's for them - hence he has already climbed the learning curve. It will cost £60 but will be worth it - especially if it helps to avoid an accident.

Knowing my luck - he will probably use a siren off a wrecked police car or ambulance.......... :scared:

SEVEN from 1 dealers.

I wonder how many other dealers have had similar comments about this from their customers.

I wonder if the dealer has reported this to Hy UK as a "customer dis satisfaction"

Spread over a 4 year period.

I was interested to learn that 2 of them were cars used by people who worked as ground staff at the local Birmingham airport - I would place a large bet they had hearing damage caused by not wearing ear defenders.

You realise, two wires from a buzzer inserted in the plug that holds the flasher can will do the same job, about AU$5.00 :undecided:

You could also save your cash and just look at the dash to see if your indicators are flashing.... :whistler:

I find with contractors that those who offer prices well below average generally do shoddy work.

Hence I must decline your kind offer...............

Surely it's the M64 piezo buzzer in the second post by TLA that produces the sound and it's this that needs upgrading?

No, even tla says it's the m68 relay. You won't get a ticking sound from a piezo buzzer.

According to the schematic, the M64 buzzer is used for the reverse parking system.  Perhaps Alan needs to upgrade that as well?

Bah humbug! Deploy my patented negative ion generator as a seat accessory wired to the indicator circuit and you'll be guaranteed the necessary awareness. :goodjob:

Never could hear mine - except when a trailer is connected.

Could not a similar "sound" system be used, can't believe it would cost £60.00......

I had the direction indicator sounder fitted at my Hyundai dealership today. I appreciate and thank you guys for the various ideas for a DIY solution posted in this thread - but I can't be arsed to frig about with the car's electrics for the sake of just £60.

The installation is perfect - it emits a sound a bit like the reversing audio warnings on a lorry - but much less noisy. I can hear it clearly - even on rough roads - but it is not too loud to irritate my wife who has excellent hearing.

I was told that the technician can trim the noise level up or down if I need it - but they got it spot on right first time.... :goodjob:

That's great Alan  :goodjob2: :goodjob:

I found this sentence amusing.. Never imagined you saying something like that (in those words)

Our Aussie influence maybe?

I reckon either his account has been hacked by his dealership or his wife wrote it.

Sounds like a great result (pardon the pun).

As for "can't be arsed" - you'll find it in common UK parlance I'm afraid (there's a lot we couldn't be arsed with)
