When I had my FD serviced by my local Hy dealer they didn't document what make of filters or brand of fluids they used, I just looked and the oil was simply described as "low ash" and that's it! And regarding "checks made" well I have to take that for granted! When I asked if I had the latest software update downloaded thy didn't know, and said they only EVER run a diagnostics check if there is a malfunction reported by the owner.

Ergo I chose Independent servicing where I knew what parts and fluids they used and I was charged half as much! This was while the Warranty applied... When that expired I serviced it myself and the car never let me down.

I'm convinced they use doubts and scare tactics to solicit business in direct contravention of the Law governing Fair Trade regulations...

Hyundai are not alone in this respect...

I should clarify - they were trying to put together a bespoke fixed price plan, not to develop a whole new servicing requirement just for my car, obviously.  High mileage is one thing, but the service requirements are the service requirements

When i had my 1st service they provided me with a check list of work required for, i think 12 years or equiv mileage.

This listed what was required at each service so all they would have to do is to price one up.
