My partner and I have 2015 diesels which are identical apart from mine being a grey SE and hers is a silver SE Nav. Her car experiences a vibration at around 60mph, which drops away if you accelerate through it. First thoughts would be wheel balance, but I swapped over wheels between the cars and I didn't get any vibration with her wheels on my car, and the vibration on her car remains with my wheels on. I fitted new front pads 6 months ago but didn't touch the discs as they still had plenty of life in them. If I drive to the speed where the vibration starts, then drop the car into neutral, the vibration disappears, which makes me think it's engine related. The vibration only started a couple of months ago.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, or has suggestions as to what I should look at?

Firty has given me occasional gremlins like that over her 17 years but those odd vibrations and flat spots eventually disappeared on their own. I put this down to quality of fuel.

An update on this, it looks like the problem is with the right-hand drive shaft inner CV joint. There's an awful lot of play in it, lucky it hasn't flown apart at 70mph.

Yet another update, the drive shaft has now been replaced and the vibration has gone, so that's what it was all the time. It was pretty obvious once we got under the car and saw the grease stains around the inner CV joint and felt the play in the joint. Fitted a used shaft from a low mileage car, a friend of mine that has replaced shafts on his cars reckons that the quality of after-market shafts isn't that great and an original shaft in good condition will last longer. We also fitted a new oil seal on the gearbox.
