Hi,

I have a 2011 i30 1.6CRDi hatchback.  The rear wiper blade has split so I bought a replacement through Amazon.

I'm not sure how I remove the blade assembly, the owners manual just says "Raise the wiper arm and pull out the wiper blade assembly".  It looks like I just pull on the wiper blade assembly but I'm a bit worried that if I'm not doing it right and pull too hard I could do some damage.  In the past on other cars I've had there was a hook on the wiper arm but it looks different on the i30.
So, any advice on replacing the rear wiper blade?

Thanks

Owners manual is not that clear, flip the wiper arm up off of the rear window,so it is standing out,the wiper blade assembly will then be able to be tilted in a clockwise direction, the wiper arm does have a hook style catch on it,if you gently keep twisting the blade assembly does un attach from the wiper arm, first time I did it,I was also worried I was going to break the whole thing.

I'll try it in the morning. Too dark now.
Thanks.

My 2009 model doesn't need all that. The blade just pulls out. You do have to slightly distort the blade to clear the end bits.
It's done without removing the wiper arm. Just lift it off the glass.
Replacement of the new insert requires the same distortion.

Suggest if blade is universal cut it to length before fitting.

Sorry. Yes. That's correct.

After "issues" with front replacement blades, I only use silicon blades now and that's what I use on the rear. I haven't noticed any problems. They seem to wipe the screen clear pretty much on the first sweep.
