Well - finally took the car in - to John Hughes - the missus insisted  - they f***ed it up, they can fix it!
letter from Hyundai head office was a sobering missive - they whisked it away////"oh, it has got the sensors - how did we miss that"
We now have a functioning outside air temp  -  the clock looks a lot less lonely on the panel.

and John Hughes have lost another customer........

Where is this lovely sensor located? I would like to see if our trophy has one, as ours was delivered with -40 on the display and bluetooth working. Then after a service, the -40 display was turned off

I think the sensor was behind the grill.....they turned mine off at the first service....they wouldn't connect it up for me.... :fum:

Why would they (1) turn off a functioning feature and (2) refuse to turn it back on???

As for the location of the sensor didn't someone on here say that it was located near the front left guard?

they turned it off because it wasn't a feature of the Trophy.......since the Trophy is a glorified sx, but it was standard on the slx

That "reason" is so retarded on so many levels, I reckon. If it's a part of the vehicle and is functional what difference does it make to either the dealer or to Hyundai whether or not it's functioning???

That sounds like the same excuse they tried on us - turned off because it wasn't a feature. We told them it was working when we bought the car, so it was a feature. That's when they tried the "no sensors fitted" ploy. The missus then got onto Hyundai head office over east, provided the vin no and chassis no., and they confirmed it had sensors fitted and JH could certainly re activate them!  I'd suggest get onto the national customer service manager . Go onto Hyundais website and fill out the complaint form, giving details of vehicle and dealer.

Apparently the outside air temp sensors are in the side mirrors.

What's the black sensor on top of the dash then?

Maybe it's the inside sensor on top of the dash?   :yahoo:
