Though one night he was giving me a lift home from a party and apparently a hump back bridge gave him some problems. I don't remember anything apart from 'coming to' in a field about 150 yards from the road.  :scared:

Jeepers Diablo  :sweating: It's a wonder you ever made it to being old (like you sometimes say you are)  :winker:

I think he used to keep a sack of sand in the front boot to help with the roadholding.

Agree it did have a lighter feel but hey doing wheelies was brill especially if you had a couple of heavies sat in the rear seat

I shite you not, all this talk and memories of the Hilman Imp,on my way home tonight had to go and see my Tyre man,on my round to his shop,I turn down his street here in my home town,Low and Behold what do I see parked in the car port of a house near him,Yes a Hilman Imp and it certainly looks like it is a Daily driver, when I go and get tyres on Bruce tomorrow,I am going to go up and see if the PPL are home and ask if I can take a pic of the old girl and have a chat to them,
another thing I did see on the way home up the highway,me being a law abiding citizen didn't get a chance to get a pic on my phone, was a number plate I have never seen before, one for Jamie,FATBOY 79,bloke was going to quick for me to catch up to him and get a shot, even if the dashcam got the vehicle it would not show the number plate anyhow.

:offtopic: Alert

I think I got a photo of a Zeta Lightburn at the Birdwood Car museum in SA ..

 :backontopic:

I feel young because I don't think I ever drove an Imp or many of those other cars in the top 20 (except the Cortina - had a Mark 2 as my first car)
by the look of the bonnet, boy racers have been around for a long time.  :snigger:
