Here are first two defects, which is typical of Hyundai i30's Russian edition  :D
Number one: that is a steering wheel and the paint is separating from the base

Number two:
Cracked additional stop light, no one can say for sure why it happens, sometimes it also occurs with the lights, which have been replaced by dealer already. In fact, besides the cracks, the light itself damages the paint. Check yours, may be it is time to go to dealer.

Could the light be caused by the extreme cold you sometimes get .. Thanks for the Pix by the way  :goodjob:

An extreme cold does have a little to do with this problem, cause some people claim their light cracked in a summer time, therefore the key to this question may concern the tightening of the nuts.

Here is what may happen one day, if nothing is done with the light. One can see how this light may damage the paint and cause a rust (this photo is not mine).

Here it came again, the photo was taken in the afternoon after three hours driving to Finland. Does anyone know the solution?

It doesn't help.
As I told I had been driving for 3 hours with lights on, of cause,  to Finland and when I finally halted near the supermarket in Suomi I saw this and took the photos.

You didn't say with the lights on... :P

You mustn't have been holding your mouth right.. :undecided:

What does the dealer say (are you still under warranty? I forget..)

It is illegal to drive the car with lights off and I obey the rules, especially in Finland, where the penalties are too high and visa may be canceled, except for speed (not in Finland), that I exceed no more than 20km/h.
I think I am not under the warranty now (I'll check this later).

Before a recent time in Russia the drivers were to turn the lights on in a day time only while driving in countryside.

the silver paint on the steering wheel looks like it was never done properly,I'll bet it was done by the dealer and not in the Hyundai factory.  :winker:

You are wrong as that defect sprang up in the course of vehicle operation and I'm not alone with this problem as many Russian owners claim they have faced it too.

Yes we are lucky.. They appear to have a bit better quality control and some of the alternative suppliers for the Euro factory are not quite as good I fear...
