2010 SX Pricing

Hi all,

New to forum and just wanted to get people's thought on the deal I've lined up on a new 2010 i30 SX (MY09) 2.L Manual:

$17,990 drive away inc:
- 15kms
- floor mats
- cargo liner
Tried for more accessories and a free service but the dealer won't budge!!!

I know it's last years model but seems to be as good as second hand prices for cars that have 15,000 to 20,000kms.

Should I grab it???

Seems like a good deal to me. I believe Dazz got around $17 000
trade in for his 2008 model with around 65 000 km on it. (Although
his was an SLX and a diesel).

Bit surprised it is a MY09 year that kind of makes it 2 years old being my wife Trish CW got a Nov 2010 build car which is a MY11 model...

But there is no denying it is a great deal for a 2.0 ltr with 15kms on the clock.. Wonder why it took so long to sell? Is it purple or something

Quite like the colour actually and is probably what I would order if I had the choice!

And is MY10 model SX 2.0L, not MY09 as originally mentioned.

We like sky blue too (used to have a Sky Blue Getz) but Trish's car is actually Clean blue which has a little Mauve in it and is the replacement for Sky blue ... which is now discontinued in OZ

Welcome aboard footprints. That sounds like a good deal, but I'd definitely push the dealer for some more extras. An iPod cable would be nice

So happy with her - how did I not have an i30 before now?
Fitted the leather gear knob yesterday, next mod is a leather steering wheel as I really miss the feel of the one we had on the Getz :-(
Can't seem to find them on eBay though - any ideas? Dealer price???
Got some sheepskin car seat covers, and after reading through the 'great debates' about csc's on this forum still haven't put them on

Being that there is an airbag in the wheel, I imagine a new full wheel would be very expensive. DB08 got an upholsterer to stitch a custom cover on his wheel but not sure what it cost as he got his seats done too for around A$2500 all up I think... (I'm guessing the wheel only would/should only be around A$200 or so if you shop around.. but ask to see some of their work..)

...and don't take any notice what the Pom's say about the Sheepskin seat covers... I'm not THAT way inclined

That's correct - $2500 all up which included the steering wheel, the inserts in the door trims in perforated leather & the seats - a mix of normal & perforated leather.
I seem to remember that the steering wheel alone though was around $300 if my memory serves me correctly.
Worth doing though, as I can honestly say that I've never, ever driven the car without using the steering wheel at some point during the journey

so have got a lot of use out of it.
Here's a photo of the seats but I can't seem to find one of the steering wheel.

They come stock in the SLX and SR (don't think you can get them aftermarket)

The chrome finish is prone to peeling on occasions although that is of course fixable under warranty..
