This is an invitation to all members around the world to join a tipping competition for the upcoming Rugby World Cup to be held in New Zealand commencing next weekend. I'd really like to get as many members involved as possible.

There is absolutely no money involved and no prizes (apart from internatonal bragging rights).

Click the 'REGISTER' button on the homepage and setup a Login (if you don't already have one with OzTips).
Once you have successfully registered a Username and Password, click the 'JOIN A COMP' button.

Shambles, the idea is that you pick which team is going to win a particular game. If you get it right, you get a point, if you get it wrong...sorry, no cigar.  The points are tallied for the duration of the world cup and at the end, someone will be able to claim to be the best rugby tipping master of the globe Well, sort of

I don't and I've won the Rugby tipping comps on another forum three years in a row.

You must lead a sheltered life.    I don't think there is a workplace, school or forum in Australia that doesn't have a tipping comp for one of the football codes.  Go on, dive in.  The water is fine.

I googled a few options and surprise surprise, it DOES seem to be an Austalian phenomenon.

Sites like "Oztips" run comps on sport all over the world, including F1,Moto GP and V8 Supercars.
You can just log on and join the generic comp. Or, as UM has done, set up your own - for a group of friends, a workplace or a club.

I can't believe it's not done elsewhere.

Come on folks, get a move on!! The Rugby World Cup starts on Friday and only four members have joined the tipping competition.  As well as myself, surferdude, kittikat and meehalych have seen the light.

As surferdude has said, many of the nations that our members live in are part of this major world sporting event.

Russia, USA, Canada, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, South Africa, Argentina, Romania, New Zealand, Fiji, France, Samoa, Tonga, Georgia, Namibia, Japan, Italy and Australia are all competing.

With only four tipsters, it is going to be pretty tame, so the more the merrier.

rustynuts, that's OK, but surely trying to beat a POM (Shambles) at anything is a great Aussie passtime. Even if you sign up just to beat Shambles will show you have that undying Aussie spirit of sticking it to the Poms at every opportunity.
