Delivery this week maybe ?

Hi from Brisbane. Hanging out for our i30 (silver slx crdi). Had it ordered for three months apparently here on 2/10 and is currently being processed. Loaded my wifes memory stick with all her music in anticipation of delivery after tinting etc. Have been reading your forum for a while. Decided on i30 after 10500 klms trip around Europe this year. Loved the little oil burners.

Thanks for the welcome messages. No the nickname does not signify any bad experiences with past vehicles, but is the name of my last dog, a golden cocker spaniel. Haven't heard from the dealer yet, but is supposed not far away. In limbo at moment.

I just received a phone call. Car will be available for pick up as of the 20th Oct! WOO. That will be 3 weeks early off my 8week wait.

I am afraid that we might be in a holding pattern again with Diva's car on a ship on the way from South Korea. Amended ETA now 15/10. Just hanging around with a memory stick fully loaded with music and no car to play it on.

Just got a call from the dealer saying that the ship with my car finally docked today (pretty much 5 months to the day since the order was placed). Hopefully will see it next week..

Great news!! Just had a call from the dealer. we could have picked up the car on next Tuesday, but we are taking advantage of a package deal to have it tinted, additional rustproofing, paint and internal protection and that means it will a 10.00am Wednesday morning pickup and drive away. We can't wait. Cars apparently being released from customs this morning.

Can anyone let me know if there any special to do with the memory stick (apart from just plugging it in) to get the music running?

Will post an image when I can.

That is great news but to be honest you can get after market tint for around $300 and modern cars don't really need the extra rust proofing and protection in most cases so if it were me I'd cancel that and save yourself hundreds of $$$ and get your car earlier

(there are threads on here with opinions about that...)

I know It will add dollars to the deal, however we plan to keep it for a while and then it probably get passed down through the family and there really is no better time than when its new. The package for all four items together is reasonable enough as to not add much to purchase price. We're happy.

Sounds like your car is on the Hyundai No.109 car ship arriving in Brisbane on Monday 13th October. Part of my job is to drive the new cars off the ships and I work at the Brisbane ports so I may get to drive your new car before you do!

Hi dazzling_darryl.All good no offence taken here. I did toss up whether it be worth it and if we were only planning to hang onto it for the warranty period of 5 years I would have skipped it too. The work is being done by Motorone (Ming) so I hope their work is good. We have opted for the darkest legal tint so I hope it looks good with the continental silver. Will have to wait until next week to see.

I am guessing form Diva's good fortune today that My car is probably on transport to newcastle so my dealer may have been right for a change when they said i could have it by the end of next week.

except I am going away on thursday night and wont be back till sunday night so i may not get it for another week and a bit.

Hi all,

Well got the word from the dealer yesterday that the replacement Silver i30 SLX Crdi with CC and ESP is being processed and will be delivered on Tuesday ready for tinting and rustproofing MK2. So Wednesday we will back in a Silver i30 and the neat little moonlight blue i30 SX Crdi loan car will be returned to the dealer.

I hope this is it. The carport will have seen 3 brand new i30's in two weeks and that's more than enough I think. I have to say that the dealer has been fantastic right throughout the process.

How's yours going? Can't wait to actually get my hands on my own so that we actually see what we have got. The first i30 was a really great car all round. Even the loaner is a good car with no vices or faults. Fingers crossed the next is as good.
