Ever since I got my i30, one thing I've been going to do is to put some rubber cushioning in the centre console drink holders and the storage compartment in front of the gear shift to help stop articles rattling.

Well, today I finally got around to doing it.......  :)

First I fashioned some paper templates....

The rubber cushioning after being cut to size....

And here it is, all finished....  :D

Well done.

I've never had a problem with drinks rattling but the other compartment can be annoying.
Job for me tomorrow to replace the piece of cloth in there now.

No probs here either with the drink holders.

I put some antislip wrap below the power outlets a while back - definitely worth doing (stops the cig lighter sliding around)

Thanks Trev & Daz.... :)

Can't say I've noticed drinks rattling either, Trev...but, I find passengers like to dump their keys and other junk in them....

Give him a Blue Peter badge....

A Blue Peter badge is a much coveted award for Blue Peter viewers, given by the children's television programme for those appearing on the show, or in recognition of achievement.

Only just caught up with this thread, I echo what the other say Rusty, well done.   Yes do post up the templates then I can print them to cot to size...

I am assuming that you haven't used sticky backed foam, be messy if someone were to be less than careful with their drinks and to make it convenient when cleaning (detailing)...

Exactly the same as I made back in May when I collected my i30.  Can't stand rattling bits in console pockets.

I also fitted the rear bumper guard which I bought direct from the manufacturer who is ten minutes from where I live..

That is a neat guard. I haven't been able to get anything like that for Trish's CW but I have got some cut to size clear film to make one myself (universal to fit all cars) but I haven't got around to doing it yet  :-[

Been split Rusty. The scanner stuff is excellent so has earned its own topic.

Having some "issues"........
I've scanned them but when I've tried printing, for some reason they aren't coming out the correct size so I'm a little bit hesitant to post them up.......

Sounds like the natives are gettign restless.

Could your printer be scaling the scans to fit your paper size. If so, you can still post your scans

I've made it into a word document and it seems to be all good now.  :goodjob:

It can be downloaded HERE

Oh, and thanks for the suggestion, Phil... :)

*Edit: you'll notice that the front cubby hole template is slightly wider on the right handside side, this is because, (I'm assuming) my car is right hand drive and the console is slightly angled towards the driver. For those that drive on the wrong side of the road, you might have to turn the template over.....  :undecided:
