Unfortunately, today's modern cars don't lend themselves to self diagnosis. Things that stop old engines are lack if ignition, lack of fuel, poor timing, no compression, or restricted air intake, most of which you can test for yourself. The dealer will have equipment to give error codes to identify the fault. If that doesn't work, I'd look at the ECU first, because that controls everything, even the error codes. Sorry I can't help more that this.  :'(

Welcome Graham.. Sorry to hear your problem. It is a bit hard to diagnose with so little information ..

Did it just stop, was their a bang or smoke? Did it sputter before cutting out? Does it try and start? Did you get fresh fuel shortly before it happened? maybe it was contaminated?

Are all the fluid levels OK?

Sorry for all the questions but if they didn't do up the sump plug properly it could have lost the oil and the motor could have ceased? Hopefully not.

and good point Phil.. I forgot the electronics  :whistler:

Bit of  aworry the dealer can't help

No petrol?

It has Diesel envy?

As you can see I'm no mechanic.

All I know is the folk at Hyundai will sort it out for you, its a contractual obligation..

Sorry I can't help and I hope the car will be back making Toyota owner's jealous again soon.

it could be any one of the above mentioned problems, but its a bit suss that its only happened during or after a service.  i wonder if the problem turns out to be a fault,or caused by human error.   :sweating:

Check to make sure all the leads have been attached/are fully home.

Have you ruled out a fuel problem?
Is the fuel getting to the plugs?
Do you have fuel in the car?
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if
