Hi all,

I just bought an 07 Hyundai Getz SX 1.6lt manual, looking forward to getting it home and giving it a decent detail. Pick it up next week, see attached pic.

This is our 2nd Getz we have bought, picked up an 03 with only 5000ks on it last year for our daughter, this one wil be number 2 daughters'.....once she pays for it.

cheers

Nice little car.. We had an '06 1.6 ltr (4 door) Getz from new for about 12 months (only traded it when the Grandkids started to arrive in quick succession and the Wife needed more luggage capacity when babysitting)

Glad you got a 1.6.  It is a better drive and we found it to be more economical than the 1.4 model (ex-rental) the daughter had for a while...

They look like they'd be good value, given how cheaply you can (could) buy a new one for over the last year or so.

Considering my daughter-in-law to be bought one (1.4 I think) last year for not much over $10,000 new on the road, I'd hope so. ;)

Well the detail has begun, day 1 included the following:

Engine bay
Wheels and inner guards
Door jams
Windows
Quick vacuum

I will let the before and after shots talk for themselves.

Day 2 included the following:

Wash
Polish
Shampooed seats and carpets
Spare wheel well and wheel detailed
Interior trim cleaned.

Seats and carpets after

I thought they looked clean.......

Prep for polishing, taping up.

Getting there, still to go:

Dress exterior trim
Polish tailgate
And probably more.

cheers

The engine bay was done with all purpose cleaner, agitated with various brushes, high pressure hose off, then blow dry with a blower vac.

Then black bits done with a product called Perl.

cheers

$7,600 was a good price  :goodjob: Like I said in one of my posts I was going to say $7500 until I looked on carsales (they are holding their price really well) I can understand why, the 1.6 ltr in particular drives very well is economical & reliable and is not dating too badly either (they look great wth a nice set of cheap alloys) I'll try and find a picture of our old one
