Hi All,

Thanks for the warm welcome  :) Seeing them more regularly now.
7 months has been a huge wait.

Good to see fuel / diesel coming down as well.

Jim.

Hi eye30,

To answer your question, before a vehicle can be registered in Australia (don't know what the law is for other countries) the vehicle must comply with Australian standards. Such as safety etc. You would think that a brand new car would be ok though :) Once this is successful it is then fitted with a compliance plate and registered.

Jim.

Thanks for that Jim.

Cars, produced in UK or imported, brand new and pre register i.e. 2nd hand, are issued with a registration document which details things such as CO, weights etc.  As far as I'm aware, they do not have to be individually checked before they are sold just comply with UK road requirements.

Once a vehicle is 3 years old, from 1st registration, it has to under go a MOT test of roadworthyness and every year thereafter.
