I want to replace the dealer provided keyring and hoped that others experience might inform my choice. Here are the three that have caught my eye so far. The first is an i30 specific item but it looks a bit heavy and may tarnish.




The second looks smaller and lighter and has some blue in it (as per my i30).




The last is leather



Thoughts / advice?

There's not a lot of "advice" you can give on a key ring. However, choose the lightest one you can, because the weight of the keys & keyring will wear the internals of the lock over time.

I'm a big fan of i30's but not a big fan of bulky key rings.. I try to minimise bulk in my pockets.

Not a lot of room in there when you have a mobile in one pocket and a 5x Zoom camera in the other.. I have tried using those key rings that clip on your belt or belt loops but the last one i bought was a bit unreliable and I nearly lost them

All I have attached to my hyundai key is my house front door key. I have enough junk in my pockets without adding unecessary fobs

P.S.: The third keyring is nice, but won't last long, if it were up to me to choose I would prefer the second one.

Hi Paul

I had the i30 one in pic one on my key for over two years and it was fine, no tarnish and not as bulky as it might look in pictures.

I now have the same ix20, it's almost a year old and again is fine, although slightly bulkier obviously!

Thanks for the comments so far - all greatly appreciated. Just for background, my wifely one only drives occasionally and usually nicks my keys. I like to know which set is which for a host of complicated reasons. So my set will have just the key and identifying attachment 

Current thoughts are - i30 is most appropriate and coolest, but is also probably heaviest, bulkiest and hardest on the pockets. Leather is 2nd bulkiest, easier on the pockets but will crack/split first. The middle one is probably least bulky, OK on the pocket but not as cool as the other two.

Yes it is, it was cast from soviet coins about 10 years ago

Paul the i30 one is only about the same length as the fob and about 1/4 the thickness, weighs about 20 grammes, honestly not as bad as you are thinking.

I have one provided by the dealer.

It is a rectangle leather with a "flapping" silver plate attached to the leather by a loop.  The plate has Hyundai with the H logo.

On the reverse is the dealers name/address

It is 4.5 years old and has been a great freebie.
