I had a quick look at the Veloster in the flesh Yesterday (I was on my way to work and only had 10 minutes to spare - so no drive yet)  :disapp:

Firstly 4 basic photos (it is only the base model - they have a top spec one coming but couldn't see it anywhere - the salesman was at lunch I assume)

Looks a lot different in the flesh (not sure I like it in Silver) Some angles it looks great others not so good.

Sort of like the back and front views more than side on  :undecided:

Seats aren't bad look sporty but quite firm (even the base model has an up market feel inside like the i40 does)

I hopped in the back via the smaller rear (third) door and it is a bit awkward to get your head in (and I'm only around 5'9" tall) Once in feels cosy but roomy if that is possible

Reasonable boot for a sporty and under the hood is neat as well .. Overall impression is it oozes class.. Like the fact base model still get flash 18" wheels  :goodjob:

I like it a lot :goodjob:

Our base model comes with 17" wheels, only the Sport models get the 18" ones.

I still think that it would be nice to have the option of the BlueDrive on the Sport model, we can only get it on the base model which means that you get the fancy ISG but no sunroof, electric folding mirrors, 18" wheels etc etc.  Seems a bit of a miss to me :undecided:

Was in Launceston today and had a long chat with Mark? the salesman up there about the Veloster, 130 and i40. He took delivery of a black top of the line Veloster Manual for his partner .. they love it  Mark reckons there is a bit of tyre rumble from the 18" low profiles on course bitumen but not bad and the manual goes about as well as a 2.0 litre i30.

I took some more photos of a white base model Manual (only A$26,990 drive away ) Great value with 8 speaker Audio System and 18" alloys (looks good in White too)

They had a top of the range in Green Apple (That colour really suits the Veloster) Trish preferred the white

We have one in our street now (I think one of our neighbours works at the local Hyundai dealer).  It drove past as I was walking the kids to school.  It was a very eye catching orange colour.  Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me, but if I see it again I will take some photos.

I reckon it is Vitamin C (a copper colour.. probably my favorite)

there is also a solid Goldy colour called "sunflower", a dark red metallic called Veloster Red and Blue Ocean (a dark Blue Metallic)

I know that what appeals is personal preference, but I'll have to give the Veloster some time to grow on me.  :undecided: :undecided:

I had a girlfriend like that once  :D
Looked better in the flesh and a nice drive and grew on me given time  :whistler:
I understand.
I just like the Jennifer Hawkins model straight away, that's all.

Personally I was a bit disappointed with her bum  :whistler: whereas that is probably the best part of the veloster  :P

Mmmmm,  need to see one in the flesh....looks to back heavy, maybe it is the fact, especially on the white one, that the large red tail light assembly draws ones eyes to the back of the car and that accentuates it's very "full" appearence.

Bit like how a wardrobe malfunction draws ones eyes to those " full" places !!!! :happydance:

Now let's get this clear are we talking about Jennifer Hawkins or the Veloster

I wasn't a big fan of the styling at all the first picture I saw and I was most concerned about rear vision but with a reversing camera and parking sensors in even the base model (not a problem)

I would probably put some decals on the side if I got one (unlikely though as a sedan and a wagon combo suits us nicely)

Should sell like hot cakes at that price ...

I had a sit is this one today, a top of the range Manual in Vitamin C colour ...

Tried the back again.. definitely a bit squeezy for an adult to get in and out of BUT the front is a really nice place to be

Great to see real life pictures of the Green and Vitamin C, look super.

Base 18" alloys don't do anything for me, dont suit the car. I know they are similar to the old Coupe SIII wheels tho

reckon the green would be my choice :)

Unfortunately, I'm claustrophobic, I probably couldn't travel in this car, especially in the rear.  :(

Think the green is my favourite so far  :happydance:

If I had money to burn I would buy one as a third car .. Think I would be happy with a top of the range non-turbo model  :goodjob:

RE: Entry via the read door. even i found myself kicking the sill and near hitting my head off the roof line.. about 5ft 8/9 myself.
though agree that once inside it isnt too bad a place.
Access can also be gained via tilting the drivers seat forward with the adjuster. (specifically designed for entry)

A neat idea, which solves the issue of the UK folk travelling to Europe etc. :)
