Plant your foot on the brake in a manual, and pretty much the same thing happens... it STOPS. (Might even be pretty quiet at the end too!)

Can't drive autos. my hand keep looking for the gear knob and my foot for the clutch, so i look like a uncoordinated idiot when driving a auto

I don't know driving the i30cw auto i think 4 gears is plenty, i get around 1500rpm at 80kms in 4th so plenty more there to use, and seeming the max speed in NSW is 110 i don't think i need much more.

Husband's car is a manual and it's terrible to drive in suburban traffic. It loathes being @ 50km/h and if there are too many stops and starts it starts QQing about it too.

That said though, it is a 10 year old car, whereas mine's nice, new and sometimes shiny!

^ I agree with this too, given I prefer staying at the speed limit than keeping up with the flow of traffic. It makes me quite sad to sit there being passed by the majority of traffic when I'm at the speed limit.

Was quite amused though coming home from my Sydney trip on the weekend (on my first tank of Vortex Premium - sitting at 6.3L/100km!) and using cruise control on the Mt Ousley hills and hear the engine kick in to keep going 100km up a hill. Hee. Love this car!
