Zo has been a bike messenger in New York for a decade. His name is short for "Schizo" - a nickname he gained in school because he always seemed to be in many different places at the same time.

  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

I think I'll pass.....there's too many nut cases in cars, it's bad enough riding a motorcycle amongst them.... :undecided:

Good video.
I thought it was bad enough in Perth. Imagine doing it it in NY.
I heard on the radio today (from a doctor) that riding a bike causes sexual dysfunction.
It has apparently been known for a long time for males, but they have now discovered it does for females too and they had this whole segment on it.
This guy in NY doing 70 miles (@110 kms) a day might have an issue.  :undecided:

It's a bike, not a horse
No, they said that it causes erectile dysfunction in males and nerve damage in females.

On a more serious note one of my old workmates (a keen Cyclist.. and a previous Champion) was knocked off his Pushbike by a truck and nearly killed a few weeks ago (his name is Derry and he is mentioned in this link about another cycle accident) I used to like riding a bike but it has become quite dangerous down here lately  :sweating:

That's not good.
I remember many years ago working with a guy who injured his knee. His doctor recommended that he take up cycling as a means of providing therapy, as cycling, along with swimming, is a non-impact exercise.
So at much expense he kitted himself out with a new bike, clothing, etc.
One morning as he was riding on a quite busy road, a large truck went passed him too close and he was sucked off his bike by it, causing him to fall.
In the process he damaged his other knee as well.
Now, I must admit that I did see some irony and some humour in that, but I distinctly remember that he didn't.

:disapp: Probably.. I think he broke both arms at least one leg, most of his ribs, got a punctured lung and a fractured pelvis and was in an induced coma for 5 days..  :whistler: (otherwise he was unharmed)

Sounds like he's certainly lucky to be alive......

This sort of thing happens far too often, with motorcycles as well as bicycles. This is why I push the message to watch out for motorcyclists so much on this forum......
