Thanks Phil....
I've actually given up on the soup diet and just modified my eating habits.....I've now lost 12 kgs, it's taken me ages, which I know is the healthiest way of doing it and the best part is I'm now keeping it off!  :D

The soup diet is great if, like Daz you wanna lose a bit of weight for a special occasion.
I also found it did put me in the right frame of mind to continue trying to lose weight....

@Rusty,

I'm only 1.6637 metres tall and years ago got to 88 kg. I started my own weight loss program & combined with illness went to 69. Currently sitting @ 77 but want to be about 72-74, so some work to do, again. At my age, it is increasingly difficult to get rid of excess weight and keep it off.  :( :)

So inline with this thread

- I'm 77 Kgs

+ I will get to 72 kgs

+ I'm driving 150km round trip per day, getting 5.0 l/100km in hilly Tasmania.
- The time in the car isn't doing my sciatica any good.
- Driving the Terracan to work doesn't help either.
+ I'm back in the i30 tomorrow.

How's the Terror Can going?

The Terror is going well.  It is a lot better than the old Jackaroo (fuel economy, drivability, safety).  Very quiet for a "larger" diesel as well, particularly at speed.

Good decision, a great step to getting in a helicopter!!  Remember, if you can't hover, don't bother.

Flying will take up your time off and all of your savings, but it is awesome.

There are three stages to a career in aviation:
1. You'll pay to go flying whenever you can.
2. You'll only fly if somebody pays you.
3. You don't care if you fly, as long as somebody pays you.

I am at about 2.5 at my stage of my career.

Thank you Dazz

FatBoy
all of my savings won't be enough, unless I either put off the training for next two years or sell my car; so I will have to take a loan
in fact if I choose to study to fly a helicopter I would have to pay twice more - about 900000 rub, that is roughly 3000 USD

+/- a body temperature this morning was +35.7
+ some more weeks before vacation  :happydance:
+ my weight is 75 kg (amazing how it works: I do nothing, but it drops)

For the Aussies on here,(others may not relate)imagine if you will the add for Supercheap of the chap with the SS comomdore with the rattle and running back and forth to Supercheap to get more tools to strip his car done to find a rattle.

Well - I have had a rattle in Cyril for a little while now,not always there but when it comes out of hiding it is bloody annoying.
+ someone posted on this forum a little while ago also how to successfully remove the door cards in step by step pictures(many thanks)
        - spent ages pulling the door card off and checking all through the door innards, only to find absolutely nothing loose which could be causing the offending rattle.
+ Oh well rattle is definately not in the door.
        - so my simple logic tells me the offending ratle must be in or under the dash.
+ as I have had the dash and under dash out a few times this I knew would be a long task but and easy one as I knew how things came apart form previous experience.
         - couldn't find anything which would be causing the rattle under there either
so like the bloke in the Supercheap add, I had pulled the car apart only to learn nothing, so disappointed at not finding the rattle, I had to drive to a neighbouring town to pick up some shopping and bugger me if the offending rattle didn't return, starting to get peeved now I happened to lower my head a little (not so much I could still see where I was driving)to try and track down where the sound was coming from, also applying my hand on panels to see if this would stop the rattle.

well bugger me hugh ++,my hand happened to touch the keys hanging from the ignition, yes I have a few extra keys on my keyring, when I held the keys, the Rattle stopped.

so don't you think I feel like a fool, just like the bloke in the Supercheap add,had he opend the ash tray before pulling everything to peices,he like me would have found the rattle was something that simple,he found his wifes ear rings rattling in the ashtray as I found it was my keys rattling while swinging on the keyring, while the car was in motion

Gee Rick, I bet you felt like a Rick with a P there for a while..  :whistler: :snigger:

I hate rattles.. because the new car is so quiet I hope none develop as they will be very noticeable (cant be the keys though as they stay in my pocket)  :goodjob:

One of the good points of getting old and suffering from reduced hearing is that it's less easy to hear rattles and squeaks.  :goodjob:

If you want to keep it off you have to weigh yourself daily. That way you can do something about increases straight away. Works for me.

Agreed, I'm 6 feet 2 inches tall & I was +22stone about 10 years back.
I lost my weight through diet, dance & excercise & I've been 14stone ever since, weigh myself every other morning so as to spot any increase early.
