Good luck with it Rick.
And remember, just because there's a pretty nurse there attending to you, doesn't mean you're allowed to have a stroke.  ;)

???? now that procedure was a very odd experience
+ news was not as bad as expected
- got to go back in about ten days for an angioplasty and stents, once the new meds have taken effect
+ hopefully fixes the chest pains and lethargy
- another few days of sitting around doing nothing
and many thanks for the well wishes, sucks getting older

I had a condition which apparently had a one in four chance of me having a severe stroke within a year. So I went for the op they offered which they said was better.

Looked it up on the interwebby and found that there was a ten percent chance of death or severe stroke during the op!  Went for it anyway. Worrying - I made an unofficial will for my dad to use if I died - no time for a real one. Fortunately for me I didn't die.

Five years later and I'm still doing okay - I think.

Thanks PPL, even the pamphlets they give you from the hospital are enough to scare the Crapola out of you, but I suppose they have to give you all the info and the worse case senerio, funniest thing was being told during and after the procedure and the surgeon had studied the films, was up to six months ago I apparently had a mild heart attack, his explanation of mild servere and ftal heart attack at the time was hilarious, well I thought so, I always thought a heart attack was just a heart attack.

The auto 'box on one of my cars (a Fairlane) has decided to do the same thing.
It drove perfectly up until I parked it up three or four months ago and then when I went to use it again, no gears.
It tries to drive but slips and I am hoping it has just dropped its fluid but I suspect not.

Ford and Holdens eh... don't you just love em... :winker:  (mind you, the longest I've ever kept a car is 4 years) so have barely had to replace a battery or exhaust pipe even... Although I wouldn't mind the estimated A$200,000 I have spend updating in 38 years  :-[

I like the way you took the trouble to take the before and after pictures from the same position. Did you leave the camera on a tripod or was it a fluke?

I tried to take it from the same spot but had to do some creative cropping... :winker:

Not part of my block but has become my responsibility since we bought the block 4 years ago  :disapp: If I don't clear it nobody else will  :fum:

The Neighbour we bought the block off who lives at the end of the road that goes past the back of our block does usually mow the wide nature strip above it though  :sweating: (I do the one on the main road though)

You might get a reduction in rates.

Don't tell anyone but the last three years we've only paid land rates  :snigger:

We have managed to negotiate a health care card this year which entitled us to a discount on our rates but when I took the bill in and tried to negotiate the discount she said " oh, so you actually live there now then" you better wait for a re-valuation and then negotiate a discount on that .. (that was 5 months ago)

So I just paid the $500 or so land rates and will see what happens next year  :whistler: Suppose it will go to $1500 or something

All we get is garbage collection, no water or sewage (got our own)
