I spent a week hosting her as fellow judge at the Show - certainly saw more of her than the wife! - and as an ex-model she is indeed, and justifiably, very proud of her legs.

+ Went in to see how our new computer system at work was performing this morning (not as bad as expected)
- It was a lot worse!!! A lot of teething troubles 
+ lucky I went in as I will at least know what I'm up against when I go back in at 1PM

The Manager had the shakes at one stage.. One of our tougher staff was in tears... I just did my usual and pottered along .. Glad I'm not the Manager these days (and only work half days)

When you know it's coming, you should aim to enjoy every working day, even with it's tribulations. These will be the memories you'll look back on in years to come and be thankful, you're not still there.

That's good advice Dazz.
Every now and then people ask me if I miss work or I get bored in retirment.
I don't get bored.
And I don't miss work. I enjoyed a lot of it and there were some shit times as well.
Now I find I can look back on the shit times with bemusement.
And I enjoy the happy memories - of which there are plenty.

One of the things that can happen through life, especially if you move with your job, is that you can lose touch with people you wish you hadn't.

And I know there are some of you out there who don't like Facebook, but like everything else in this world, it's a tool. Used wisely it is beneficial.
In retirement, thanks largely to FB, I've been able to catch up with quite a number of old friends - from school, motor sport and work. And FB has enabled me to "choose" who I want to maintain contact with.

That is how I use Facebook too.. I have turned off all but important updates for everyone but family (so I don't waste too much time on there)

That's where FB comes in handy.
Plus, some of those are pretty close friends.
It also means when I travel there are old workmates and customers to call in to see for coffee, lunch etc.

- just been asked to go into work early (e.g. work all day today) Someone called in sick 
+ will give me another day off up my sleeve ( makes 5 now as I used one up the other day ) 
+ only about 5 weeks until I start 2 weeks of annual leave 
+ slowly getting the bugs ironed out of the new system at work
